ASIATIC CHEM TO EXPAND WITH PLANT NEAR HYDERABAD
Article Abstract:
Asiatic Chemicals Industries (ACI) which has 45 percent market share in the zinc chloride market is now planning to expand its capacity. It has set up a plant near Hyderabad for the same purpose. The plant has started commercial production in its first unit. The plant has a full scale capacity of 500 tonnes per month. The plant may reach full production capacity by January 1999. The demand from dry cell manufacturers who consume zinc chloride for manufacturing dry cell is increasing at a rate of 25 percent per annum. The new unit will supply zinc chloride to Eveready plants in Hyderabad and Chennai, Geep unit in Mysore and Indo National's unit at Nellore. (um)

HLL CHANGES PUNCHLINE FOR `WHEEL' AD

Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL) has informed Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission (MRTPC) that it has altered all its advertisements and publicity materials for its detergent Wheel. The new advertisement will claim wheel to contain lemon perfume instead of contains lemon. The packaging materials for wheel detergent and cake have also been changed. HLL is said to have taken this step voluntarily and not on any direction from MRTPC. (um)(psr)
